September 16 – 17, 2008

Thanks to all of you who attended, to the Rocky Mountain Board members and Friends and to the rest of our vendor community for their support and hard work to make this symposium one of the best yet!

The 13th annual Rocky Mountain Vendor Symposium was held again at the ever popular Inverness Hotel and Golf Club in Englewood, Colorado where over 340 attendees (vendors and participants) were in attendance. Vendor display space was once again a commodity ‐ sold out! The special show floor layout and foot‐traffic routing were just two contributing factors to why this show was so successful.

Have you ever golfed at Inverness? It’s spectacular! and over 150 golfers participated in the event. Sun‐dried Golfers were treated at the end of the tournament to Angus burgers, plump brauts, spiral cut ham and cold‐cold drinks.

That night a tasty welcome reception rolled right into a busy Cable‐Tech Games event where over 60 contestants competed from area companies all over Colorado including Comcast, US Cable, and Town of Mtn. Village. A couple Comcast gentlemen did so well in fiber splicing that their scores we’re compared to the very best times ever for this same national event.

                                                                                     Ryan Gieseke and Curtis Courtney

Fortunately, with proper predictions and full support from our Vendor community, the Cable Games events were all doubled up leading to ½ the normal wait times.

The next day the show floor opened revealing full showcases of the most reliable products and services staffed by able‐bodied sales engineers. This made for meeting SCTE's goal of knowledge sharing and provided MSO procurement specialists and managers an opportunity to efficiently hold business conversation and get up to speed on the newest offerings.

Rocky Mountain Chapter Board members presented chapter and industry information during the lunch and a technical presentation on digital transition was provided following the president’s address on SCTE and the real value it brings.

This Comcast Technician in training was not afraid to raise the bar for best dressed.
